Really nice teacher that helps me on a personal level?

She's my grade 11 History teacher. She's new and knows that I've struggled a bit with my past. She goes out of her way to comfort me during class and afterschool, or at lunch. She tells me some stories of when she was my age, and how to overcome some of the difficuties i have. I want to thank her, but I dont know how to with out it seeming like im ';sucking up';. As a teacher myself, I think just a well written letter at the end of the year expressing your gratitude and how she has meant a lot would be more than enough. Teachers have to put up with a lot of garbage, and thrive on the few instances of students telling them they appreciate their efforts.Really nice teacher that helps me on a personal level?
