Okayy so i need to reset my phone but it freezez when i turn it on . and only way it wont freez is if i clear the memory but i dont know how to with out it freezing when i try .Does anyone know how to reset a motorola Q ?
it depends what you mean by reset. if you intend to simply turn the phone off then you can hold the red button (right side of center button) if the Q is frozen and you simply want to turn it off and on again, you can let the power drain out and it will turn off automatically then you can charge and turn back on. or you can just take the battery out.
if you mean to completely reset the phone to factory/store settings, you have 2 options, go to start--%26gt;system tools, then master reset. , once you start the master reset IT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING FROM YOUR Q, INCLUDING CONTACTS, CALL HISTORY, AND MESSAGES. if you want to save the contacts and call history, there is file called pim.vol that is saved on the phone. it stores all of your contact and call history information. it is located in the root folder, the folder you see when you open the file manager for the first time. if you are unable to reset your phone by going to the master reset program in start, you can turn off the phone, and then turn it back on but while it is turning on you hold the center/OK button and the red/off button. continue to hold until you see a black screen that says MASTER RESET YES/NO
again, if you choose to reset, it will erase everything.
if you are doing a master reset, you should copy the pim.vol file to your computer or your storage card. i recommend taking you sd/storage card out while you do the master reset. it is not supposed to affect the card but i do it just in case.
