I want to upgrade my computer to something...more..eh...with 400. I just want to know how hard is it 1-10 for someone who has never done anything with computer parts besides installing RAM. And if you have nothing better to do could u give me a link of a how to with pics and stuff. Thank you in advance! How is it to install a PSU (both taking an old one out and replacing it)?
I wouldn't say its hard at all- Its probably the least technical thing to replace. All you have to do is open up your computer, find the power supply (usually at the top of your case,) and disconnect all of the cables from your motherboard, optical drives, hard drives etc. Then simply unscrew it from the outside of the case (make sure you hold on to it for the last few screws,) and it will slide right out. Putting the new one in is just as simple, just reverse that, and make sure all of the connections are properly seated.
Finally, here's an old cheesy video, but it gets to the point.
