How-to with this carburator rebuild...?

my friend is practically snowed in, in ny..he's rebuilding a carburator (on what, i didnt even ask) but he says when it comes to getting the screws back in it..he over/under adjusts..so his final q to me was...';how far do i back out the adjustment screws initially when i get it back together?';How-to with this carburator rebuild...?
2 3/4 sounds right, i turn it over and check to see that the needle is just protruding by a tip, then bump the idle screw up about 3 turns, then as i bring down the idle, i adjust the mix screws.How-to with this carburator rebuild...?
thats going to depend on the carb...usually its 2 3/4 turns......by the way is that a boston terrier in you picture? hes cute///I have one too...
A guess, 11/4 turn from what I remember.
