How to cut a band shirt into a fitted top?

Buy a T-shirt. Cut the sleeves off. Cut out the neckline to look like a tank top. You could lay a tank top on top of it to get a good idea where to cut. Keep in mind that it will stretch once you cut it. You will want to make the neckline higher that you actually think it should be, or you are going to wind up hanging out. Try it on and mark where you want the bottom cut, then cut the bottom. the more spandex in your shirt the better it will fit. It will be somewhat fragile, so wash it by hand. Good luck!
