Help! What do you do when your baby starts climbing out of his crib?

My 11 month old has pretty much figured out how to climb out of his crib. He has figured out how to with his playpen and is close to being able to climb out of his crib now. Any suggestions????Help! What do you do when your baby starts climbing out of his crib?
For me, 11 months is too young for a bed, too many things to get into, or hurt on, during the night. I bought a crib tent to put on my sons crib, and its awesome! Its a little, well, tent that goes over top of the crib to prevent your little peanut from climbing out... but still allows plenty of room for the baby to stand up. Just an idea, if youre not ready to move to a bed yet. Heres a link to show you...http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp鈥?/a>Help! What do you do when your baby starts climbing out of his crib?
yes - time for a toddler bed. that's what we did.
Our son was a monkey too. Look to make sure you are on the bottom rung of the crib levels. Sometimes there is a super low one.

The toddler bed was too high for us to be comfortable with. So, we had to improvise. We put the crib mattress on the floor, in the corner, so the wall was covering two sides. We put a body pillow on the long side and two pillows (king size ones) on the head of the bed. Then, we bought the net/ moveable rails to cover the other end and the side. That left him only able to 'walk' out of one part.

The trick is to a.) clean the room every night for a clear path, and b.) 'train' him to stay in bed.
It's time for a toddler bed. Make sure the one you buy isn't on a recall list. And it will need rails to keep your child from falling off.
If your cot has a lower setting try that. If not your little man may well be snuggling into a big boy bed sometime soon!
my friends tell me that when my daughter (18 months) starts to climb out, its time for a big-girl bed. but at 11 months, i dont know. what a tiny little climber you have!

my only advice is to take out the bumpers you may have in there, they give leverage. and move anything he's using as a pulley or step away from the crib. have you lowered the mattress as far as it will go? well good luck!
lol i should'nt laugh but i have been there 4 times and it gets old after awahile i know just keep putting him back in and let him no that it's a no-no and soon he will understand that mommy will not keep letting him have his way please dont give in because thats how it will get worse trust me ...
It is time for a bed. Low to the ground and have a padded exit route so he doesn't hurt himself (too much anyway, lol). My boy is 10m and if it wasn't for the sleeping bag he goes in to sleep he would be trying to climb out too. Sometimes the little buggers can ';do'; things before they understand them, lol.

No more locking him up to do things, waah, I understandt your pain, lol.
Make sure the matress is at the lowest possible position. Remove bumpers and anything else that baby could step on to help them climb. Talk to him and explain that everyone sleeps in their beds, and when he is awake in the morning, you will always come and get him out. He doesn't have to do it himself. If you have already done these things and he is still getting out, you need to stop using the crib and have him sleep in a pack and play. If he is going to get out either way, it is better he has a shorter fall to the floor so he doesn't get hurt. You could also consider converting the crib to a toddler bed. He is super young, but at least again he won't have a big fall. Good luck.
yea, get him a toddler bed! he might just hurt himself getting out of the crib. the toddler beds are about $50-200, depending on the type of bed, but you can use your crib mattress.
It is time to move him to a toddler bed.
Definatley time for a toddler bed for your cheeky monkey!
They have the net that you can put over the crib and also the playpen. I have not tried them yet but I have heard people say they work good.
